About Anal Toys

Anal play is the category where sizing and material matter most, and where the wrong first purchase puts people off for good. The range covers butt plugs, beads, douches and enemas, prostate massagers and a small number of vibrating pieces — all listed with a diameter, a base type and a material rather than just a length.

Start with the smallest diameter, not the shortest toy: width is what the body has to accommodate. A flared base is not optional. Tapered tips are easier than blunt ones, and silicone is the material to look for if you want something that cleans properly and lasts.

Use more lubricant than feels necessary, go slowly, and stop at pain rather than pressure. Wash before and after, dry fully, and store silicone away from other silicone so the surfaces do not bond.
